| Lingyin Temple |

Lingyin Temple was constructed in 325 AD, on Lingyin Mountain, and is among the most famous Buddhist monasteries in China. The main temple has an interesting collection of gilded statues and ornate furniture including a famous laughing Buddha statue, made from camphor wood and encased in gold. In fron t of the hall there are two ancient pagodas built around 940 AD. On nearby Feilai Hill, there is a network of some 300 caves, housing a stunning collection of carvings of the highest quality. This collection is a treasure within a treasure as anyone who has stood within the beautiful scenery of Lingyin Mountain could attest to. |

| Pagoda of Six Harmonies |

Six Harmonies Pagoda is found near Hangzhou City, on the north bank of Qiantang River. It is built as two rings, the outer ring housing the cloister and the inner ring housing the small room.Due to its popularity the Six Harmonies Pagoda has become one of the symbols of Hangzhou. Visitors enjoy the splendor of the pagoda as well as the excellent views it offers of the surrounding area, especially the Qiantang River. It has inspired countless poets and scholars over the generations. The pedestal of the Six Harmonies Pagoda is adorned with hundreds of exquisite carvings that are perfect examples of the traditional style of the Song Dynasty, making it of uncalcuable value to the cultural heritage of China. |

| West Lake |

In the centre of West Lake is Fairy Islet, one of the best places to enjoythe beauty of the lake. Although the islet is not short on gardens and pavilions of all sorts it is most famous for the "Three Towers Mirroring the Moon". These are actually three pagodas built on the water itself that are said to control evil spirits and on certain days in August they house perfectly reflections of the moon.For nature lovers the best place to enjoy the lake views is Quyan Garden on the west shore. It has been a landscaped garden since the Southern Song dynasty (1127-1279), and has seen many enlargements over the years, even as recently as 1978. Inside is one of the most amazing botanical displays in the world. Over 200 species of lotus can be found and when in bloom they are simply breathtaking. At other times of the year the garden is still a marvelous place to visit since its courtyards and pavilions along the lake shore, create an ideal atmosphere to survey one of the most delightfully picturesque spots in China. |
