Hong Kong is situated in Southern China, just 32 km east of the Pearl River and 135 km southeast of Guangdong Province. The city is broken down into four sections; Hong Kong Island, Kowloon Peninsula, the New Territories, and 260 surrounding islands. Hong Kong enjoys a subtropical climate, with reasonable temperatures for half the year, cool, dry winters and humid summers. Hong Kong is a flourishing international metropolis on par with the best cities in the world, including New York, London, and Zurich.
It is also a free port for the Far East and an important center of trade in the Asia--Pacific region in general. The city boosts highly sophisticated transportation, including subway, railway, ferries, and modernized airports. The city also has a rich tapestry of history. As early as 4,000 years ago, Chinese ancestors settled on the island. During the Tang Dynasty, Hong Kong became a important base for the imperial army. The official languages there are Cantonese and English. |

| Victoria Bay |

Victoria Harbor is the body of water that is between Hong Kong Island the Kowloon Peninsula. This key location is what brought the British to Southern China and led them to occupy Hong Kong Island during the First Opium War and establish a colony and trade post here. This area is also very important to the local Hong Kongese, today, being a major trading center.
Victoria Harbor is also one of the busiest harbors in the world and with Hong Kong's beautiful skyline right nearby, it also makes for one of the most beautiful harbors as well. The panoramic view of the harbor is spectacular, both during the day and at night. Passing through the harbor are several ferries, container vessels, pleasure boats and others, always offering something exciting to look out at. |

| Hong Kong Disneyland |

Hong Kong Disneyland opened on September 12, 2005 after several years of construction. The park is jointly owned by The Walt Disney Company and the Hong Kong Government and managed by Hong Kong International Theme Parks. It is the fifth Disneyland theme park in the world. The theme park has four areas that are familiar with those in the USA: Adventureland, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland and Main St. USA. Inside the park there are also several well known attractions, such as Sleeping Beauty's Castle, the Mad Hatter Tea Cups, Space Mountain, Orbitron and several others. There are also some new areas unique to Disneyland Hong Kong, like Inspiration Lake, where people can rent boats and ride them in the large arboretum. There are also several shows and parades in the park, as well as a fireworks display every night at 8pm. Disneyland Hong Kong is, however, the smallest Disneyland park, yet the experience is very different from the others, especially since it is located in Hong Kong, a unique city unto itself. |

| Ocean Park |

Ocean Park Hong Kong is a marine theme park that is a joint project with New Zealand and China. It is one of the largest marine theme parks in the world and is the largest leisure paradise in Southeast Asia. The park covers a total area of 200 acres and built on both sides of the mountain. Presently, the park is also expanding to make an even greater experience for its guests. There is a cable car system that connects the upper and lower areas of the park that visitors can ride on for free.
There are several fun things to do in the park. There is a kid area for families to play games and win stuffed toys as well as ride children's rides. There are also various adult rides in the park, such as rollercoasters and log rides. There is also a 72 meter tall tower in the park that guests can ride up and see a magnificent view of the park and the South China Sea. Besides the rides, there is also, of course, several exhibits of marine life and also several shows.
Atoll Reef, the most popular attraction at Ocean Park, allows guests to see over 2,000 fish, including 250 different species. The park is also home to Asia's first underwater viewing tunnel that is located in the Shark Aquarium. Here, you can walk right below or next to over 35 species of sharks and rays. The aquarium also has a special captive breeding program that includes over 10 of the species.
There is also the Hong Kong Jockey Club Giant Panda Habitat that opened up in 1999. Guests that visit the park have a rare opportunity to see some of China's most famous animals. The park opened in 1977 and has received more than 55 million visitors. Not only does the park make for great entertainment, but also provides a great learning experience. |

| Victoria Peak |

Victoria Peak, also known simply as The Peak, is the most famous landmark in Hong Kong offering the most spectacular view of the city, both day and night. Most of the influential population of Hong Kong also lives in this area. The rich here throw lavish dinner parties and many people who own these homes rent them out to top executives and make a fortune. However, during the beginning of Hong Kong's history, few people traveled up The Peak. Now, it is a tourist haven. The Peak also offers several trails that run through the forests on The Peak. One can first take the tram up The Peak and then take the trails back down and pass through Plantation Road and May Road. |
